A powerful new all weather RIB is to be added to the Sea Start fleet for the 2009 season. The boat will be 7 metres in length and is nearing completion at a building yard in Lymington and will be launched in April. The RIB is powered by twin Honda 135hp engines and is capable of 45 knots. It will join the fleet at Hamble.
The RIB is unique in that it has been built exclusively for Sea Start’s requirements. In order to comply with the MCA code of practice it has been fitted with a cabin to give it full 20 miles offshore capability at night. The fuel tank capacity of 429 litres gives it an impressive range.
“The new RIB is an important addition to our growing fleet” explains Sea Start MD Nick Eales. “It will be the most modern and well equipped to date, featuring state of the art Raymarine radar and plotter.
“We are going to be using this design to produce further RIBs to expand our fleet of Sea Start RIBs along the South Coast.”
