One of the types of breakdowns that is on the increase is fouled propellers. This is mostly likely caused by the amount of debris in the sea. We have found all manner of things around propellers including one instance where a propeller was encased in a tyre, and another with a full lobster pot, complete with lobsters!
Sea Start has assisted in many cases by quickly diagnosing the problems and arranging for a diver to attend and efficiently deal with removal of the obstructions. Sea Start members are then able to proceed with their onward journey.
It’s rare that our experienced and dedicated engineers can’t fix a breakdown in-situ. However, should the need arise they will tow you to the nearest port if a repair is not possible.
