The Round the Island Race is one of the big racing events of the year here in the Solent. If you are thinking of taking part this coming June, you ma be interested in these pictures of the Varvassi boilers, the last part of the wreck that can do damage.
There are two of them both quite close to the surface at low tide. They seem to be about 2-3 metres in diameter. These pictures were taken at a very low tide, close to chart datum.
